Since it moves me to a certain degree and I'm not doing anything, here's a short review. Black Lagoon is set in the early to mid 1990's and is about the various jobs taken on by the Lagoon Company, a pirate/mercenary courier service of four based out of the sin-city-esque fictional port city of Roanapur, found supposedly somewhere in Thailand. The four, pictured left to right are: <img class="alignmiddleb" src="http://org.ntnu.no/anime/img/serie/upload/20080811005821_200_1_black_lagoon_480.jpg" border="0"> <ul><li>Benny- a somewhat skittish jewish hacker from florida, the local tech-spert.</li><li>Rock- the main protagonist, a japanese businessman initially abducted by the Lagoon Company, but later somewhat adopted by them once he's declared dead by his employers. He begins as an errand boy, but later becomes negotiator and translator for various jobs.</li><li>Revy- a chinese-american gunwoman from new york. The brutal, short-tempered muscle of the group</li><li>Dutch- an imposing african-american vietnam vet.
